Employing the same technology inside our hand-held ThunderBolt Storm Detector, the Storm Beacon can be mounted as a single unit or part of a multi-unit lightning protection system to cover a designated area ranging from a single school playground to an entire golf course or resort complex.

ThunderBolt Storm Beacon advanced proprietary electronics and software captures data from the intensity of electromagnetic field emissions of lightning activity within storm cells, as far away as 75 miles, and converts the data into digital signals. It then locks in on the storm’s path, and monitors its approach. Because lightning can strike from as far away as 10 miles, beyond the audible range of thunder, Storm Beacon’s audible and visible warnings will activate before the storm reaches the 10 mile danger of deadly strike.
